Brand new, CHARLY the Campervan is a 4-berth campervan with a custom-built interior for an accessible adventure that is all about the fun and not the logistics!

This exciting new wheelchair accessible motorhome is spacious with a well-equipped kitchen, a two-burner gas cooker, large fridge and hydraulic lift access.

Fully self-contained it has an accessible shower and toilet, electric mobility sofa bed, place for the wheelie upfront in the drivers cab making it perfect for family road trips or exploring New Zealand with friends.

The rental is $488.75 (incl. GST) a night for a minimum of 5 nights.

A bond/excess of $3,000.00 will be required to confirm the booking either by depositing into our bank account or as a credit card hold. This bond/excess is refundable after 28 days of the rental’s conclusion, providing no other costs are incurred by the hirer.

A cleaning fee of $200.00 (incl. GST) is required for each booking.

Frequently asked questions

  • You are able to drive this campervan if you have a current class 1 driving license of your country of residence. If you are not a NZ resident and have been in NZ for over a year you must apply for a NZ driver’s license and are not eligible to drive this campervan until you have one. If your driver’s license is not in English you must get it translated in NZ at AA or NZTA before you are able to hire and drive this campervan.

    I’m a wheelie, can I drive it?

    If you’re a para that can transfer and have a current class 1 license, Yes.

  • How are the wheelies fitted up front?

    There is an ezi-lock for those with an ezi-lock on their chair or tie-downs like taxis have.

    Do you have hand control options?

    Yes, contact us directly with your preferred hand control.

  • There is a queen size bed that sleeps two in the overhead/luten, and there is a ready-made fold out couch that is double size that sleeps two. This ready-made fold out couch would best accommodate the wheelchair occupant. It is designed to sleep four and legally you can have four people in it when on the road.

  • Two if one is the driver, one if the driver is ablebodied.

  • KiwiCash is a smart way of payment for access to services and campsites around NZ. Your KiwiCash key identifies you and connect to your online KiwiCash account. This allows you to make secure, easy payments for services with a tap of your key on any KC PODS. Online account can be created on the app or via www.kiwicash.nz

  • Thank you for choosing to stay in CHARLY, we hope you have had a great adventure.

    Please return your campervan at your confirmed drop off time with the following having been completed:

    Please make sure your fuel tank and LPG bottle is full* before you return your campervan. The fuel gauge must register as full and you must leave a receipt for the LPG bottle in the front seat showing that it has been filled within the last 24 hours. Additional charges will apply if this hasn’t been done. [*For an additional charge we can fill the gas bottle, just let us know at drop off.]

    Empty the grey (waste) water and toilet at an authorised dump point found at most campgrounds prior to drop off.

    All kitchen equipment including cutlery and crockery is required to be returned clean.

    All used bed linen and used towels to be removed and left on the bathroom floor.

  • The campervan pick up and drop off location is from our Showroom in Mount Wellington, Auckland. If it is required for the vehicle to be delivered or picked up from any other location additional fees will be incurred.

  • Please allow a minimum of 7 days in advance to book in your trip with us.

  • As a general rule we do not allow pets unless agreed by prior arrangement.
