Fleet and passenger vehicle fitouts

Milner Mobility fits out vehicles for organisations, not just individuals. We build the wheelchair accessible vehicles in your fleet, and we build the standard passenger vehicles that run alongside them.

That means one supplier, one specification and one warranty across the whole fleet.

Adapting vehicles for New Zealanders since 1982

One supplier.
Every vehicle in your fleet.

We have been adapting vehicles for disabled New Zealanders since 1982. It is not a division of our business — it is our business, and it has been for over forty years.

That specialism is why fleet operators come to us for the accessible vehicles: the hoists, the restraints, the wheelchair anchorages, the compliance. The work where getting it wrong is not an inconvenience but a safety failure.

What is less well known is that the same workshop, the same engineers and the same standards handle the rest of the fleet. Coach seating, Flooring, Entry systems and Glazing. The standard passenger vans that sit alongside your accessible ones — built by the same team, to the same specification, with the same attention to detail.

One brief. One point of contact. One standard across every vehicle you operate.

Every vehicle we modify is specified to the job it has to do. These are the systems we design, fit and certify:

What we build

Seating

Our seating options offer a safe and flexible solution with integrated 3-point seatbelts and patented sliding systems.

Modular Bonded Flooring

An innovative system that uses one piece flooring to create interconnected panels to open the possibility of flexible seating.

Glazing

Automotive-grade fixed, sliding, and double-glazed windows with UV protection, insulation, and noise reduction.

Personal Transfer and Equipment Stowage

Our custom modifications, from walker storage to smart lifters, make every journey easier and more convenient.

Wheelchair Access

From power wheelchair lifts (capable of lifting up to 600kg) and winches for easy entry, to advanced restraints and docking systems. Enjoy stability and comfort during travel.

ABS Panels

Lightweight, durable ABS trim panels that give a clean factory finish, with precise fitment, strong impact resistance, and easy cleaning.

Solutions for every situation

Most fit-out companies assemble parts. We engineer them.

Design, fabrication, CAD modelling and 3D printing all happen in-house, under one roof at Mount Wellington. When a vehicle in your fleet falls outside what any standard catalogue can serve, we don’t tell you it can’t be done. We model it, we build it, and we certify it.

That capability has produced New Zealand’s first wheelchair accessible motorhome, built with ACM Motorhomes and covered by 1News. This is vehicle capable of carrying two wheelchair users travelling together. Our engineers produced multi-user wheelchair transport, and accessible tourism vehicles that had no precedent to copy.

This is just one example of how we can come up with a unique solution that showcases our ability to think outside the box and push the boundaries of what's possible.

We believe in giving back

We are a Keystone Partner of the New Zealand Spinal Trust. We partner with the Halberg Foundation and the Halberg Games. We support Spinal Support NZ, and we have worked alongside MS Auckland for years.

These are not customers. They are the national organisations that represent the people who will ride in, and drive, the vehicles you are using. They know our work, and they trust our engineering.

Most of our staff have a personal connection to someone with a disability. This is why the standard we hold ourselves to is not the one the regulation sets, it’s the one we would want for our own families.

Who we build for

If you operate a mixed fleet, or have any custom vehicle needs, we are a perfect fit for your business.

Retirement villages & aged care

Mixed fleets where some residents use wheelchairs and most do not.

Disability support providers

Bespoke requirements that standard catalogues can’t serve, and driver adaption for clients working towards independence.

Accessible tourism

Accessible vehicles that are inclusive rather than merely compliant — including New Zealand’s first accessible motorhome.

Healthcare and rehabilitation

Patient transport, and vehicle adaption for clients returning to driving.

Education and councils

Community shuttle fleets that can carry every kind of passenger.

Compliant, certified & documented.

Wheelchair hoists, restraints and anchorages all require LT400 or Low Volume Vehicle certification in New Zealand before the vehicle is legal to carry a passenger.

We build every adaption to meet those requirements, and each vehicle is certified before it goes back to you. Payload, safe working load of the hoist and safe working load of the restraint system are established and documented, so the people using the vehicle know exactly what it is rated to carry.

Aftercare

Sales, adaption, service and rental all operate from one site. The people who engineered your adaptations are the people who service it, not a subcontractor, not an agent, not somebody reading a manual for the first time.

We have a full time Aftersales Manager and a convenient, easy to use online form available from our website.
